Atol 650 Specs, Cockpit, Engine, and Price – Atol 650 is an amphibious light sport aircraft (LSA) designed and developed by Atol Avion Ltd. This aircraft is capable of operating in water, land and snow. This aircraft completed its maiden flight in April 2015. The LSA underwent a water transport test for the first time in December 2014. The LSA was exhibited for the first time at the Sodankylä Airshow in June 2015 and was also displayed at the Aero 2015 exhibition in Germany.
Atol 650 aircraft have a wing folding system with a manual control line connection. Wing aspect ratio ensures center of gravity (CG) range and ease of loading without strict loading restrictions. The wing tips are positioned at the top of the fuselage to ensure safe operation on water, while the dihedral wing further ensures good roll stability. The aircraft can be optionally equipped with skis to operate in the snow during winter.
The amphibious aircraft is also equipped with a bilge pump, a bulkhead in the rear body to prevent the uncontrolled hull water from moving, aft cleats, and mooring poles in additional buoy supporters and tails. It also integrates luggage compartment, and integrated water steering in the tail wheel, as well as paddles and fasteners. The aircraft's empty weight is 375 kg, the maximum take-off weight (MTOW) is 650 kg, and the maximum load carrying capacity is 275 kg. this aircraft weighs 100 kg lighter than other LSA that is currently available on the market.
The Atol 650 avionics suite includes a 7 in MGL screen, a 4.3 in MGL XTreme engine monitoring system, dual controls and dual brake pedals. The cockpit is also equipped with a fresh air nozzle, installed for iPad, electrical sockets on the instrument and top panel, electric trim, and heating and defogging systems.
Atol 650 Specs
The Atol 650 fuselage is made of modern composite wood. The dimensions of the aircraft include a length of 7.45 m, a wingspan of 9 m, a wingspan of 13.5 m², and a tail span of 2.4 m. It features a conventional landing gear that can be pulled back during flight and water operations. It also includes an auxiliary nose wheel which helps in sliding to steep beaches. The aircraft can be equipped with an Atol water taxi (AWTS) system for water maneuvers.Atol 650 aircraft have a wing folding system with a manual control line connection. Atol 650 Engine
Atol 650 amphibious aircraft is powered by a Rotax 912iS engine which can produce outout power of 100 bhp. The engine drives a fixed three-blades propeller with a height of 1,720 mm. This aircraft has a fuel capacity of 140 liters which provides nine hours of endurance. The aircraft can fly with a cruise speed of 170 km / h and a strike speed of 74 km / h. It has a maximum range of 1,500 km (950 mi).Atol 650 Cockpit and Avionics
Atol 650 aircraft can accommodate pilots and passengers in side-by-side seat configurations. Each seat has a four-point seat belt and a shoulder strap. The cockpit is equipped with fabric or leather upholstery. It was covered by a rear hinged canopy that rose with an instrument panel. Canopies allow occupants to enter or exit planes on the beach with dry feet. This includes emergency canopy releases and can be locked from the outside. The Atol 650 avionics suite includes a 7 in MGL screen, a 4.3 in MGL XTreme engine monitoring system, dual controls and dual brake pedals.
