ATR 42-600 Specs, Interior, Cockpit, and Price – ATR 42-600 is a twin turboprop passenger aircraft developed and produced by Aerospatiale and Aeritalia. ATR, with headquarters in Toulouse, is a joint venture between EADS and Finmeccanica / Alenia Aeronautica.
ATR 42-600 is a new generation aircraft equipped with new engines, new propellers, increased heat and high performance, increased weight capacity and increased passenger cabin. ATR 42-600 was certified in 2012.
Another variant of the ATR 42 aircraft is the ATR 42MP which is an aircraft for maritime patrol, operating with Guardia in Finanza Italia (three aircraft) and coast guard (two aircraft).
Alenia Aeronautica is responsible for making the fuselage, tail unit and landing gear installation. The wings are produced and tested at EADS Sogerma, in Bordeaux. ATR has full responsibility for the final assembly and delivery to the customer.
Specifications for special variants such as the ATR 42MP are equipped with search radars, Galileo Avionica mission systems, electronic support measures Elettronica (ESM), forward-looking infrared (FLIR) and TV cameras. The aircraft can spend up to eight hours at the station, at 200nm from the base.
Thermodynamic power, under maximum continuous conditions, is 2,315 kW (3,148 shp) and mechanical power is 1,765 kW (2,400shp) for each engine. To support this large engine power, the ATR 42-600 equipped with two integral fuel tanks can carry 5,700 liters of fuel.
A pneumatic de-icing system is provided for engine air intake, edge leading edges, and horizontal tailplane edges. The electric anti-icing system is installed for the propeller blades, windshield and horn.
This aircraft has a tricycle that can be pulled hydraulically. Landing landing feet are provided by Messier, wheels and brakes by Dunlop, anti-slip control by Hydro-Aire cranes and tires by Michelin (or optional Goodyear tires for operation on non-paved runways). Magnaghi's hydraulic system provides landing gear retraction and also serves other systems on the plane.
The ATR 42-600 cab is equipped with a quick replacement kit that has the ability to reconfigure the cabin in 30 minutes to carry ATR special containers using standard front cargo doors.
This kit allows the aircraft to operate as a passenger plane during the day and as a cargo plane at night. Each optimized container has a volume of 2.8m³ and can transport goods up to a total weight of 500kg. ATR 42 can carry up to nine ATR containers.
The standard front cargo door of 1.52m × 1.27m can be replaced with a large cargo door of 2.95mx1.8m to carry standard container unit (ULD) containers, such as LD3 and 88in × 108in containers.
ATR 42-600 can carry five LD3 containers plus 10.0 m³ for bulk shipments. The alternative load arrangement consists of three 88in × 108in containers, one 63in × 88in container and an additional 11.9 m³ of bulk transportation.
ATR 42-600 is equipped with a digital Thales avionics suite that includes five LCD screens, a new flight management system, new communication, a new navigation system with a global navigation satellite system / wide area augmentation system (GNSS / WAAS) and a new automatic pilot for the CAT III approach .

ATR 42-600 Specs
ATR 42-600 is a high wing monoplan with a fail-safe semi-monocoque fuselage made of light alloy. Composite materials, such as monolithic carbon structures, carbon / Nomex sandwiches and Kevlar / Nomex sandwiches, are widely used and represent 19% of the total structure weight.Alenia Aeronautica is responsible for making the fuselage, tail unit and landing gear installation. ATR 42-600 Engine
The ATR 42-600 is powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PWC 100 Series turboprop engines. This engine is equipped with two six-bladed Hamilton Sundstrand 568F propellers with Propeller Electronic Control. Blades are all counterweighted. Pinner is made of aluminum, while the engine cover is made of carbon / Nomex sandwich or Kevlar / Nomex sandwich. Engine intake is in Kevlar / Nomex sandwiches with a rigid carbon coating.Thermodynamic power, under maximum continuous conditions, is 2,315 kW (3,148 shp) and mechanical power is 1,765 kW (2,400shp) for each engine. ATR 42-600 Cabin and Cargo
ATR 42-600 can carry up to 70 passengers in a four-aisle configuration. Standard configuration includes two cargo compartments. The 4.8 m front cargo compartment is located between the flight deck and the passenger cabin and the 4.8 m³ rear compartment is located behind the passenger cabin. The ATR 42-600 cab is equipped with a quick replacement kit that has the ability to reconfigure the cabin in 30 minutes to carry ATR special containers using standard front cargo doors.

ATR 42-600 Cockpit and Avionics
ATR 42-600 is equipped with Rockwell Collins TTR 921 radar for ACAS II. Honeywell Primus 660 weather radar is displayed in four colors on the electronic horizontal situation indicator (EHSI). Weather radar can also be used in MAP mode to display obstructions on land. Honeywell MARK VIII is enhanced with a ground proximity warning system (E-GPWS) integrating warning and terrain warning display, plus cleaning the terrain floor in an electronic flight information system (EFIS).ATR 42-600 is equipped with a digital Thales avionics suite that includes five LCD screens, a new flight management system, new communication, a new navigation system with a global navigation satellite system / wide area augmentation system (GNSS / WAAS) and a new automatic pilot for the CAT III approach .
