Beechcraft King Air 350i Specs, Interior, Cockpit, and Price – Beechcraft King Air 350i is a twin turboprop business aircraft developed by Hawker Beechcraft Corporation (HBC). Beechcraft King Air 350i first flew in 1988 and was made in a civil and military version. More than 500 King Air 350i have been shipped. The Beech King Air product line has been produced continuously since 1964 and more than 6,000 of the 17 variants have been sold for corporate, commercial and special mission operations to more than 94 countries.

In December 2006, Raytheon announced the sale of Raytheon aircraft to GS Capital Partners. The new company named Hawker Beechcraft Inc. and sales were completed in March 2007. In October 2008, Hawker Beechcraft announced a new King Air 350i that had a new cabin interior that was redesigned with Rockwell Collins Venue, an integrated cabin management system (CMS), the new Beechcraft FlexCabin allows for easier configuration of the cabin. Besides that the cabin noise level has been reduced to an average of 78dBA.

The first King Air 350i flight is scheduled for early 2009 with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification planned for the third quarter of 2009 and shipments will begin shortly thereafter. The European Aviation Safety Authority (EASA) certification is expected in early 2010.

Beechcraft King Air 350i Specs

Beechcraft King Air 350i has various specifications, depending on the version and designation. The special King Air 350i mission version is available as a surveillance aircraft equipped with a camera. The maritime patrol version is capable of carrying up to 1,300 kg of mission equipment equipped with forward-looking air and sea search and infrared radars. Rescue assemblies and rescue equipment can be dropped through the hatch.

The hydraulically retractable tricycle landing gear has a double wheeled main unit and a one wheel wheeled nose unit. The gear is equipped with Goodrich tires, a hydraulically operated Goodrich multi-disc brake, and Beech oleo-pneumatic shock absorbers. The main teeth pull forward and the nose unit pulls back.

The military intelligence version of the Guardian RC-350 is able to roam the station for more than six hours at an altitude of 10,500 m. This aircraft can monitor radar emissions in the range of 20MHz to 18GHz and can intercept communications in the 20MHz band to 1.4GHz.

Aircraft mission equipment includes Raytheon AN / ALQ-142 electronic support system with wing-mounted antenna, a Watkins Johnson 9195C type radio communication interceptor, Cubic safe digital up-and-down data link, Honeywell laser inertia navigation system and determination system global position. The communication intelligence system antenna is installed in a fairing under the fuselage.

The King Air 350i entered service with the Japanese Self-Defense Forces in 1999 carrying the designation of JGSDF LR-2. This aircraft is equipped with a surveillance and communication system.

The Royal Australian Air Force rents seven King Air 350i aircraft for navigator training and the Australian Army rents three aircraft for command and control, communication support, and supervision.

Raytheon has developed a new special long-range mission variant, the King Air 350ER. The aircraft has an additional nacelle fuel tank, heavy landing gear and maximum takeoff weight increased to 7,480kg (16,500lb). This gives the aircraft an extended range of 4,260 km (2,300 nm) and an endurance of eight hours. King Air 350ER received certification in November 2007.

Beechcraft King Air 350i Engine

The Beechcraft King Air 350i is powered by a Pratt & Whitney PT6A-60A twin turboprop engine, a free turbine engine, each rated at 1,050shp. The Hartzell propeller is a four-blade propeller, 266.7 cm automatic aluminum alloy, reversible pitch propeller.

Airplane bladder cells and integral fuel tanks on each wing provide usable fuel capacity of 1,438l. An additional fuel tank located inside the engine nacelles brings the total fuel capacity that can be used to 2,040l.

Beechcraft King Air 350i has a comfortable and spacious quadrate-oval pressurized cabin. The air-conditioned cabin is equipped with double club style seats for eight passengers plus up to three single seats.

The Ultra Electronics UltraQuiet active noise control system reduces flight noise to below 80dB (A) in the passenger cabin. The acoustically active UltraQuiet system cancels propeller noise in the cabin by introducing sound waves that have the same frequency and amplitude but have opposite phases of unwanted noise.

The Beechcraft King Air 350i cockpit can accommodate two crew and is equipped with dual controls even though it can be flown by a single pilot. The aircraft is equipped with Rockwell Collins ProLine II avionics suite with UNS-1D / UNS-1K Universal navigation system, ALT-80A altimeter, dual air speed indicator and flight director and optional Rockwell Collins EFIS-8B electronic flight information system with three multifunctional tube displays .

The King Air 350i is now offered with Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 suite avionics as standard equipment. This includes the 8in × 10in primary flight display based on the technology of LCD active liquid (liquid crystal display) and multi-functional display with primary engine information, system synoptic, checklist and navigation data including planning maps, current position maps and posts. Terrain, traffic, lightning, weather radar, and other sensor information can also be displayed.

Pro Line 21 includes: FMS-3000 flight management system (Dual FMS is optional), multiple flight director, failed-passive autopilot, Global Positioning System (GPS), dual solid-state attitude heading reference system (AHRS), dual digital air computer data and turbulence detection radar. The Rockwell Collins (RTU) remote radio tuning unit provides centralized control of Pro Line 21 radio tuning. And the AirCell ST3100 Itridium satellite telecommunications system will be the standard equipment for new aircraft.

Beechcraft King Air 350i Price and Orders

The price of the latest Beechcraft King Air 350i is US $ 7.3 Million. In March 2007, the Iraqi Government ordered five special King Air 350ER mission aircraft for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, and one for transportation. The total requirements are for 24 special missions and 24 transport planes. Special mission aircraft must be equipped with Wescam MX-15 L3 electro-optical / infrared system, General Atomics Lynx synthetic aperture radar / reverse synthetic aperture radar (SAR / ISAR), AN / AAR-47 and AN / ALE countermeasure missile warning systems -47. In November 2008, the US Air Force ordered 23 King Air 350ERs for shipments starting in 2009.
