Bombardier CRJ900 Specs, Range, Interior, Cockpit, and Price

Bombardier CRJ900 Specs, Range, Interior, Cockpit, and Price – Bombardier CRJ900 is a derivative stretching of the CRJ700 announced in 1999. The first production aircraft assembly began in 2001. Bombardier Aerospace's regional aircraft division, based in Toronto, Ontario, is responsible for marketing, sales, contracts, and product support for Series jet aircraft CRJ. This aircraft completed its first flight on February 21, 2001 at Montreal Mirabel International Airport.

In general, these aircraft have broad similarities with other CRJ family members. Bombardier CRJ900 has a joint crew qualification (CCQ) with CRJ200 and CRJ700, as well as a reconfigurable flight simulator, general maintenance and training procedures, parts and ground support equipment.

Bombardier CRJ900 Specs

Bombardier CRJ900 86-seat is a variant stretching from the 70-seat CRJ700 with two aircraft plugs, one forward and one rear from the center. Compared to the CRJ700, Bombardier CRJ900 has a 5% higher thrust engine, reinforced main landing gear, improved wheels and brakes, reinforced wings, increased volume on the trunk space under the front floor, luggage doors under additional floors, and two doors additional exit under the wing. There is also an increase in the use of composite resin transfer molding (RTM) in aircraft construction with reduced fuel consumption.

For fast airport turnover, additional service doors have been placed on the right side of the fuselage of the fuselage providing access to aircraft cleaning and the crew refilling the ship, while passengers descend through the front passenger door.

Bombardier CRJ900 aircraft is equipped with a retractable Menasco Aerospace three-wheel type landing gear. The Bombardier CRJ900 landing gear is reinforced and equipped with improved wheels and brakes compared to the CRJ700 to be compatible with higher operating weights.

In March 2005, Bombardier announced that it had upgraded Bombardier CRJ900 by redesigning wingtip and wings and optimizing the leading edge device devices to provide lower lift / drag ratios and lower approach speeds. This results in an improved load range, better takeoff and landing performance, and lower fuel costs.

Bombardier CRJ900 has a range of 2,956 km. Bombardier has also introduced a remote version, Bombardier CRJ900LR, which will have a range with a full passenger load of 3,385km, taking off from the 1,944m runway. Bombardier CRJ900ER has been designed for service to European airports. The aircraft has a reduced maximum take-off weight (36,995kg compared to 37,421 kg for Bombardier CRJ900ER) to minimize costs that are sensitive to weights at European airports.

Bombardier CRJ900 Engine

Bombardier CRJ900 is powered by two General Electric CF34-8C5 turbofan engines equipped with full authority digital engine control (FADEC). They gave a 58.4kN boost when taking off. Engine nacelles, supplied by Bombardier Aerospace (Shorts Brothers) from Belfast, are installed on the rear side of the fuselage.

There are two integral wing fuel tanks with fuel capacity of 11,148 l. The Intertechnique fuel management system is equipped with Ratier-Figeac controls. The maximum fuel load that can be used is 8,823kg.

The additional Honeywell power unit is installed in the tailcone. Electric power is provided by the Hamilton Standard electric generator with two integrated drive generators that provide 40kVA.

Bombardier CRJ900 NextGen

In May 2007, Bombardier announced the CRJ NextGen family aircraft, which had a new cabin interior, including larger passenger windows, more luggage space, and LED lighting. American Airlines was the first customer to benefit from the latest Bombardier CRJ900 NextGen regional jet because it reduced 5.5 percent fuel burning reduction compared to Bombardier CRJ900 aircraft. The first Bombardier CRJ900 NextGen aircraft for American Airlines was launched in May 2014.

Bombardier CRJ900 NextGen was the first with 75 to 90 seats to enter service with Northwest Airlines in June 2007. This is the best-selling book among the CRJ NextGen series and has more than 120 orders. NextGen 66-68 seats CRJ700 entered service in 2009.

The two pilot flight deck is equipped with Rockwell Collins Pro Line 4, six-tube Flight and Electronic Information System (EFIS) and Indication and Crew Warning System (EICAS). The instrument panel has six cathode ray tubes 127mm × 178mm (5in × 7in).

The aircraft is equipped with a top head display and Dynamics HGS 2000 Dynamic flight guidance system, Rockwell Collins (AHRS) automatic header reference system, field impact avoidance system (Rockas Collins) and Rockwell Collins digital weather radar. Integrated avionics processor integrates flight management systems and autopilot. Windshield and cockpit side windows Bombardier CRJ900 is equipped with an electric eraser system.

Bombardier CRJ900 Price and Orders

The price of the latest Bombardier CRJ900 aircraft is US $ 46.5 Million. Bombardier CRJ900 orders were first sent to Mesa Airlines in February 2003, which had ordered 25 aircraft. In March 2014, total shipments, orders and options for the CRJ family were more than 1,817 CRJ aircraft including 343 Bombardier CRJ900 and Bombardier CRJ900 NextGen aircraft.

In July 2010, Duetsche Lufthansa from Germany placed orders worth around $ 317 million for eight Bombardier CRJ900 NextGen aircraft. China Express Airlines confirmed a conditional order with Bombardier for six Bombardier CRJ900 NextGen planes in February 2012. The order was completed in July 2012. Bombardier Aerospace received a firm order from Rwandair for two Bombardier CRJ900 NextGen aircraft in March 2012. The first of two aircraft was delivered in October 2012.

In June 2014, Bombardier Aerospace received strict orders worth around $ 727 million from unknown customers for 16 aircraft NextGen Bombardier CRJ900. Orders also include options for eight additional aircraft.
